Baylor equestrian will kick off its 2018-19 season ranked at No. 7 in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association’s preseason national team rankings, announced Tuesday afternoon by the NCEA Selection Committee.
Coming off the program’s first season under head coach Casie Maxwell, the Bears will have 12 matches against ranked opponents during the 2018-19 slate.
BU will host the NCEA Championship in Waco this season for the 13th-straight season at the Extraco Events Center from April 17-20.
Since the 2012-13 season, the first in which national team rankings were produced, Baylor is one of only four teams in the country to appear in every poll since, joined by Georgia, Auburn, and TCU.
Baylor kicks off its season on Sep. 28 and 29 by hosting the Willis Invitational at 10 a.m. CT at the Willis Family Equestrian Center. The competition includes No. 9 Fresno State, No. 10 and Delaware State.
