The Baylor men's tennis team placed six players in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association's preseason rankings, which were released Tuesday.
Five Bears were named in the singles rankings, led by senior Johannes Schretter at No. 33 and junior Bjoern Petersen at No. 59.
Schretter compiled a 24-14 singles season while playing primarily at the top three spots for the Bears while Petersen went 11-13 overall while competing at the top two singles positions.
Sophomores Matias Soto and Sven Lah came in at No. 79 and 85, respectively, while redshirt senior Will Little was tabbed No. 115.
Soto enrolled last January and went 18-9 in the lineup while Lah posted a 15-11 mark after starting 1-5 during the fall season. Little went 17-9 during his junior season.
Schretter and Little went a combined 13-10 in doubles last season, including a 5-4 record against ranked opponents. The duo got up to No. 2 in the spring rankings.
Freshman Finn Bass also received recognition by coming in at No. 5 in the freshmen/newcomers rankings. Bass signed his National Letter of Intent this fall and will join the team in the spring.
