University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Markeith Miller’s record-setting performance in the Cru’s season opener has netted him another weekly honor. Miller was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
Miller, a senior running back from Garland High School, broke his own school single-game record by rushing for six touchdowns in UMHB’s 91-7 victory over Albright College. Miller finished with 97 yards on 21 carries despite sitting out most of the third quarter and all of the fourth with the game already decided. He also earned American Southwest Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors this week.
The Cru is 1-0 on the season following Saturday’s victory. UMHB returns to action with the ASC opener this Saturday against Sul Ross State. The Cru and Lobos will kick off at 6 pm in Alpine.
