Baylor's offense started off firing on all cylinders against UTSA and finished strong in the Alamodome for their second win of the season.

Sophomore quarterback Charlie Brewer got his second start of the season and promptly threw two first down passes back to back to put Baylor within striking distance of the end zone.

Jamycal Hasty was the finisher on the first drive catching a three yard score from Brewer to give the Bears an early lead.

An interception gave Baylor the ball back and head coach Matt Rhule sent senior transfer Jalan McClendon into the game at quarterback.

After failing to get anything going for two drives, Brewer re-entered the game and threw a touchdown pass to preseason All-Big 12 performer Denzel Mims to make the game 17 to 6.

Rhule then opted for an onside kick that the Bears recovered. McClendon entered the game again, but the Roadrunners sacked the quarterback, forcing a fumble, and recovering the ball for their offense.

UTSA went on to score quickly before half making it 20 to 13 in the Alamodome.

The Bears came out in the second half and Brewer connected with Jalen Hurd for a touchdown to extend the lead. UTSA would not give up though rallying back with another touchdown of their own.

Baylor controlled the game in the fourth quarter, earning their victory 37 to 20. Next for the Bears is a Sept 15 match up with Duke at McLane Stadium.
