GOTW Preview: Crawford focused on themselves

Clifton beat Crawford last season, but Pirates coach Delbert Kelm says his club can't worry about that.

"What we have to do is concentrate on what we need to concentrate on. These kinds of games come along every so often. You know it's very important that a team learns how to handle it."

This senior-led Crawford club was just two games away from the state championship last season and they're trying to get back. An out of district contest won't help them towards the goal, but the playoff atmosphere Clifton brings will help.

"Playing another experienced team and a good team like that is always a good challenge," said senior lineman Seth Kohlscheen, "You always want to have a challenge there. I mean we grew up with a lot of those guys they're not too far away."

Crawford knows they are in for a battle, but right now Kelm says his team is focused on their winning details.

"Bottom line for us is that it's a football game on Friday night. All the hoopla or anything or coverage that goes on is just icing on the cake."

Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Crawford.
