The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team is ranked 16th in the country in the Women’s Golf Coaches Association’s (WGCA) Preseason Top 25 Poll. The Cru received votes totaling 104 points in the poll. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Williams College are tied for first time in the poll with 339 points. CMS picked up eight first-place votes and Williams snared five first-place votes. Southwestern University is ranked 12th with 155 total points, Trinity University received votes worth eight points and U.T.-Dallas totaled votes worth six points to give the state of Texas four teams mentioned in the poll.
The Cru women return three letter winners from the team that won the American Southwest Conference Championship last season. UMHB advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championships last year. The Cru women will open the 2018-19 season with the Lady Bulldog Invitational next Monday and Tuesday in Seguin.
