"I truly believe that we're going to come out on top, but defensively we're stacked. I don't think their running the football is going to get very far and even if they pass the ball I don't think they get very far with it," said Mart senior linebacker Preston Lane when asked about the Bosqueville offense.
That's serious confidence heading into the season, but when your team only gave up 14 points in district play last season, you earn the right to strut your stuff.
So much (rightfully earned) attention is paid to the Mart offense with running backs Shatydrick Bailey and Tyrek Horne that people could forget the vaunted Panthers defense.
Bosqueville was the only district team to score on Mart last season, but head coach Kevin Hoffman says that doesn't change his approach.
"We're not going to change what we do. We hopefully can force them to do something that they don't want to do."
Mart will get a chance to show off that defensive ability Friday night at 7:30.
