Five people were arrested after a man was found walking around with a chain around his waist claiming he was kidnapped in Abilene on Tuesday.
According to Abilene police, at approximately 5:35 a.m. a citizen called police about a man walking around with a chain around his waist.
Officers responded and found that Antonio Perez, 20, and Heather Wells, 28, were staying at a hotel and were kidnapped by Nathan Lowery, 24, Joshua Davis, 29, and Janna Calloway, 32.
Lowery, Davis and Calloway were upset about being sold $100 of “bad” drugs by Perez and Wells and decided to kidnap them.
They were taken to a residence and tied up. At some point, Perez was left alone in the house and was able to free himself. He left the residence seeking help, according to Abilene police.
When officers found Perez, he told them that Wells was also kidnapped and took police to the residence. Wells was found and the three suspects were taken into custody.
Lowery, of Copperas Cove, and Davis were arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping. Calloway was charged with aggravated kidnapping and possession of methamphetamine.
Wells was charged with a misdemeanor warrant for possession of a dangerous drug and Perez was charged with failure to identify.
They were all taken to Taylor County Jail.
