The Salado Eagles have grown exponentially in Head Coach Alan Haire's two seasons with the team, and they don't expect this year to be any different.
The focus this fall camp is making this group just as strong, if not stronger, than the last.
And for Coach Haire, that starts with character.
He believes his team will need to overcome themselves in order to be able to handle adversity in stride.
"Get out of yourself and into the team. If you can do that, I think we have a shot at being successful," Salado Head Coach Alan Haire said. "...and not to say that the scoreboard takes care of itself, but if you can become a good person while being an athlete, that's what we want to build together."
"If you do your part, the team's gonna win. That's really how Coach Haire's taught us. Just be unselfish of yourself and care about what you do for the team, and that's how you're supposed to win," Tommie Barker, Salado OL/DL senior, said.
The Eagles will continue to get their young guys up to Salado speed until for game one against Troy.
