Franklin coach Mike Hedrick's Lions were 10-3 last season before falling in the regional semifinals to Teague.
The Lions return a ton of depth on both sides of the ball. None of them are more important than RB/DB Jared Pedraza who led the team in tackles, yards, and touchdowns last season.
Hedrick says the team can't just rely on Pedraza to be special though.
"You've got kids that know they can do it and that's the way you win. I'm just excited for them. They've had 2 or 3 years on varsity and that's a credit to them because they just play hard for us."
As for Pedraza, he's just focused on powering through the playoffs.
"To get over that hump we just need to find some guys that will step up and work harder than everyone else. I feel like if we do that and find those players that work harder then we're going to be alright."
Franklin starts their schedule against Hearne Aug 31.
