A Texas A&M University student got up close and personal with an alligator for special graduation photos that have gone viral on social media.

Makenzie Noland marked the end of her internship with Gator Country in Beaumont by posing with Big Tex, a 13-foot 8.5-inch alligator.

Gator Country is the largest alligator adventure park and sanctuary in Southeast Texas, housing over 450 American alligators, crocodiles and other reptiles.

Noland, who will be graduating from A&M this week with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, worked with Tex every day since she arrived in Beaumont. Noland said she has a very special bond with the animal after her time with Gator Country.

The graduation photos highlight Noland's work during her internship.

Her photos have nearly 4,000 shares and over 1,000 likes on Facebook in just three days.
