Williamson County K-9s receive body armor
Williamson County K-9s recently received body armor thanks to nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K-9s.
K-9s Bodhi, Drago, Enzo, Axel, Nemo, Rody and Harry all received bullet and stab protective vests. Each donated vest is valued between $1,744 and $2,283, with a five-year warranty and an average weight of four to five pounds.
Sheriff Robert Chody said K-9 Kaiser received a vest that was embroidered with the sentiment "In memory of K9 Ty, California City Police Department."
Vested Interested in K-9s has a mission to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. Since its establishment in 2009, the organization has provided over 3,000 protective vests to K-9s in all 50 states.
