After sitting out three months due to NCAA rules violations, UMHB head football coach Pete Fredenburg has rejoined the program.
School officials self-reported the violations in early April. Neither the school, nor the NCAA has said what the violations are, only that they, "do not involve sexual misconduct, academic fraud, or financial aid."
UMHB athletics says no one will speak about the infractions until the NCAA has completed its investigation, but the governing body has not given a timetable on when that will be.
UMHB suspended Fredenburg for three months without pay. He will also miss the first three games of the 2018 season.
Fredenburg announced his return to the program Tuesday in a tweet:
I am excited to be back with our team and incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our Coaches and Support Staff over the summer. They've built a roster of great young men with minds set on making 2018 a special year! #CruFootball #ProtectTheCode #CRUS18DERS pic.twitter.com/VjkiHR50Je
