It only took one day for Temple High School to find their new head baseball coach, and Monday the new coach granted the Central Texas Sports Team his first Central Texas interview.

On his first day on the job, Coach Dallas Robertson is already looking forward to February.

He believes Temple baseball has a bright future and is excited to be a part of the program. Coach Robertson says he is a coach for the kids.

"Building relationships and earning the trust as the coach goes a long way. Not just wins and losses, but it goes a long way in what the coaching profession's about, and that's what I'm definitely going to bring," Dallas Robertson, Temple's new head baseball coach, said. "The wins will take care of itself. But, definitely in it, the coaching aspect, of building relationships and building a program the community's proud of."

Robertson has been hoping to return to Bell County. He not only attended UMHB, but also graduated from Killeen High School and is proud of it.

But when asked his thoughts on switching from maroon to royal blue?

"I wore maroon in high school, and I just got done wearing maroon in Athens. So two stints in maroon, and now I'm putting on the blue... Proud. I'm proud. This is truly a honor to be able to lead the baseball program, and I'm happy about the blue," Robertson added.

In addition to his role as head baseball coach, Robertson will also be an assistant football coach this fall.
