The Texas Rangers announced Friday a deal has been made with the Chicago Cubs.
LHP Cole Hamels is headed to Chicago.
The Rangers traded Hamels and cash for two RHPs and a player yet to be named.
RHP Eddie Butler will join the Rangers in Houston this weekend, and RHP Rollie Lacy will be headed down to Myrtle Beach to Down East.
Butler has had eight relief appearances with the Cubs so far this year. He is currently 1-1 with a 4.08 ERA.
Butler was drafted by the Rangers back in 2009 in the 35th round, but did not sign. He was then selected 46th overall (1st Round) by the Colorado Rockies in 2012.
Butler played with the Rockies from 2014 to 2016 before he went to the Cubs.
