Former Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel was traded to the Montreal Alouettes Sunday by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Both teams are in the Canadian Football League's east division.
While with the Tiger-Cats, Manziel was backup to Jeremiah Masoli, according to ESPN.
The Allouettes are currently 1-4 and in last place in the CFL's east division.
ESPN reports show Manziel will be competing with three other quarterbacks for playing time, something he didn't see with the Tiger-Cats.
The Canadian Football League reports indicate Manziel will reunited with Mike Sherman, the Alouettes’ head coach. Sherman recruited Manziel in 2012 for the Texas A&M Aggies.
