Baylor Athletics released the Lady Bear's non-conference basketball schedule for the upcoming season Wednesday.
The Lady Bears have stacked their non-conference play with a total of 11 games and two exhibitions.
Coming off of a 33-2 season, Baylor is looking to be challenged.
“Our non-conference schedule is loaded with solid programs that will challenge us at home, on neutral floors and on the road,” Baylor Women's Basketball Head Coach Kim Mulkey said. “The level of competition throughout will prepare us for the road ahead with Big 12 and NCAA Tournament opponents.”
Some of the highlights from the non-conference match-ups will be on December 2nd and 15th. Baylor will be on the road competing against South Carolina and Stanford.
The Lady Bears will wrap up their non-conference competition playing host to 11-time national champions, UCONN, on January 3rd.
UCONN only had one loss last year and that was to the eventual national champions, Notre Dame.
Coach Mulkey and her staff acquired a powerful recruiting class with Aquira DeCosta, Queen Egbo, NaLyssa Smith, Honesty Scott-Grayson and Caitlin Bickle.
Those new faces will be joining All-Americans Kalani Brown (Sr.) and Lauren Cox (Jr.) as well as Juicy Landrum, Didi Richards, Alexis Morris and Moon Ursin in hopes of building after the team's 13th Sweet Sixteen appearance last year.
