The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team has been honored by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association with a 2017-18 WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. The Cru’s team GPA ranked eighth among NCAA Division III programs.
UMHB team members Emily Ming (Sr., Lynden, WA), McKenna Ralston (Sr., Temple), Cassidy Rawls (Jr., Snyder), Olivia Robinson (So., Deer Park), Annie Hasselbach (Fr., Rockdale) and Casey Washmon (Fr., Carrollton) combined to post a cumulative team GPA of 3.631 this school year to claim eighth place in Division III. Ming, Ralston, Rawls and Robinson all earned American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference honors this year and Ming, Rawls, Robinson and Hasselbach were all named WGCA All-American Scholars. The Cru women won the ASC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championships. Ithaca College posted the top GPA among Division III programs at 3.801 and fellow ASC programs U.T.-Dallas and Hardin-Simmons also finished in the top 25 in Division III.
The WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Awards honor the top 25 programs in each of the three NCAA divisions. The top overall team GPA is also recognized. This was the first time the WGCA has split the list by division.
