Posted

Texas A&M golfers Chandler Phillips and Maddie Szeryk completed the Arnold Palmer Cup on Sunday, with Phillips earning a half-point for Team USA, who won the event 38.5-21.5 over Team International.

Phillips, a senior on the men’s golf team, birdied the par 5 18th to halve his match with Lorenzo Scalise of Tennessee. Phillips, competing in the Palmer Cup for the second consecutive year, was unbeaten in four matches at the Evian Resort Golf Club, winning two and halving two.

Szeryk, who just completed her senior season for the women’s golf team, battled but fell 3&1 to Lilia Vu of UCLA. Szeryk, who competed for Team International, birdied twice in 17 holes.

The Arnold Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men's and women's college golfers matching the United States against a team of International players. The 2018 matches at Evian Resort Golf Club was the only major tournament which features men and women playing side-by-side as partners.
