The College Station Police Department was dispatched to a car crash on Wednesday.
At approximately 3:53 p.m a blue Ford Escape and a white Mazda Sedan crashed on University Drive and Nimitz Street. The Ford Escape attempted to turn westbound from Nimitz Street onto University Drive when the Mazda Sedan hit the side of the Ford Escape.
After the collision, the Ford Escape flipped onto the passenger side and was pushed into the front bumper of a white GMC SUV in the inside lane of University Drive.
The driver and the passenger of the Ford Escape were escorted to the hospital for non-incapacitating injuries. Due to the accident, eastbound and westbound lanes of University Drive were temporarily closed while emergency personnel and wrecker services removed the vehicles.
According to College Station Police, the operator of the blue Ford Escape was issued a citation for failing to yield right of way.
