Franklin Independent School District will be requiring all students to carry clear or mesh backpacks during the 2018-2019 school year.
The district said the purpose of the new policy is to support the administration in its efforts to monitor what students bring to school. The policy will also help ensure the campuses safety, the district continued.
Other security measures may be added for the campuses in the fall.
