The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to an accident on Highway 6 near Riesel where the driver was pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday.
DPS Sergeant Ryan Howard said after an investigation they determined that 62-year-old Michael Padgett was pulling a Transcraft flatbed trailer that started to weave and overturned after the tire blew out on the flatbed trailer.
After the fatal accident, DPS warned drivers to check their tires before traveling. They recommend to check your tread depth and make sure the tire pressure is at the recommended level based on the vehicle.
