The Texas Rangers today announced that third baseman Adrian Beltre has been activated from the 10-day disabled list, effective for tonight’s game at Safeco Field.
To make room for Beltre, 1B-OF Ryan Rua has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Beltre has been sidelined since May 14 when he went back on the disabled list after aggravating a left hamstring strain on May 13 at Houston. He was previously on the DL from April 25-May 7 after originally straining his left hamstring on April 24 against Oakland and appeared in just five games between the two DL stints.
Overall, Beltre is batting .314 with one homer and 12 RBI in 29 games in 2018, 26 starts at 3B and three as the designated hitter. He enters Thursday’s game with 3080 hits, 23rd all-time and one behind Cap Anson.
Rua is batting .163 with 2 HR and 5 RBI in 34 games over three stints with the Rangers in 2018.
