The 15th-seeded Texas A&M softball team opens play at the NCAA College Station Regional Friday at 6:04 p.m. against Prairie View A&M at Davis Diamond.

Texas A&M enters the NCAA Regional with a 46-10 record and is led by Tori Vidales, who tops the Aggies in batting average (.346), home runs (11), RBI (53), slugging (.599) and on-base percentage (.454). Sarah Hudek is second on the team in batting average at .329, followed by Ashley Walters at .319. Riley Sartain joins Vidales as the only other Aggie with double-digit dingers.
In the circle, Trinity Harrington is 13-5 with a 1.80 ERA. Lexi Smith holds a 9-2 mark and a 1.50 ERA, and Samantha Show is 11-5 with a 2.35 ERA.
The winner of Friday night's contest will face off against the winner of the Baylor-McNeese State game on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The two losers from Friday's games will face off in the first elimination game at 4 p.m., with the second elimination game beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The Aggies are making their 17th-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship and 29th overall. In the NCAA Tournament, Texas A&M holds an 82-63 record all-time and have made 12 appearances in the Women's College World Series with three national championships. Under head coach Jo Evans, the Aggies have appeared in the tournament 18 times.
