SUV carrying students and staff from school district in South Texas involved in accident in Falls County

The Falls County emergency officials said an 18-wheeler hit an SUV carrying students and staff from a school district in South Texas. 

Officials said the accident happened shortly after 3 p.m. in front of Rosebud High School. 

The SUV from Flatonia ISD was carrying six people. 

Officials said the SUV slowed down for a school zone and got rear-ended by the semi. 

The students and staff members were treated at the scene and did not need to be transported to a hospital. 

Onboard were a 19-year-old, 16-year-old, three 18-year-olds and a faculty driver. 

The people in the SUV were taken to Rosebud ISD and will wait there for a transport vehicle to take them back home. 

Lott police, Lott volunteer fire department, DPS, Falls County Sheriff's Office and constables responded to the scene.
