Highlanders pick up all-conference honors
A handful of McLennan Baseball players earned North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference All-Conference honors announced yesterday. Freshman left-hander Grant Miller was named the Co-Pitcher of the Year and first-team all-conference selection. Sophomore catcher Josh Breaux was also named a first-team selection. Freshman pitcher Alex DeLeon and sophomore designated hitter Keaton Milford were second-team honorees.
Miller, a Round Rock native, has made 16 appearances on the mound for the Highlanders with seven starts and three complete games. He boasts a 9-0 record with one save and two shutouts, and a 1.42 ERA with 56 strikeouts in 63.1 innings.
Breaux, of Tomball, has appeared in 51 games for the Highlanders, spending time at catcher, designated hitter and pitcher. He leads the squad with a .398 batting average with 15 home runs, 61 RBIs, 52 runs and 42 walks.
DeLeon, a right-hander from Lago Vista, has made 15 appearances with six starts amassing a 5-1 record with two complete games. He has a 2.44 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 48 innings.
Milford, from New Braunfels, has played in 53 Highlander games, recording a .361 batting average with 11 doubles, four triples, nine home runs, 53 runs and 39 RBIs.
