McLennan Baseball jumps four spots in NJCAA poll

The McLennan Highlanders jumped four spots to No. 13 in the latest NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll.

Walters State (Tennessee) remained in the top spot this week followed by Iowa Western moving up two spots to second. Chattahoochee Valley (Alabama) dropped one spot this week to third and Connors State (Oklahoma) climbed four spots to fourth.

Cisco, a conference and regional opponent for McLennan, jumped up five spots to fifth this week while San Jacinto from Region XIV fell one spot to sixth. Blinn, also from Region XIV is No. 20, up from receiving votes last week. Grayson is receiving votes.

The Highlanders have an overall record of 40-14 and finished in second place in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference with a record of 25-7. The second-seeded Highlanders will face third-seeded Midland at 5 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the NJCAA Region V Baseball Tournament in Grand Prairie.
