Mayor of Killeen Jose Segarra will be facing other candidates for the spot. Segarra faced off with Arturo Cortez, Hal Butchart, Jimmy Parker and Holly Teel. Segarra won.
Voters will also see the Killeen ISD 2018 $426 million bond on the ballot. The bond is split into two propositions, including the construction of a new elementary and high school, as well as the renovation of campuses that are over 50 years old. Prop. A passed 58.4% to 46.6%. Prop B passed 57.7% to 42.3%.
If passed, it's expected that homeowners will be pay on average nearly $15 more per month on property taxes.
