A Round Rock police officer has died months after being hit responding to an auto-pedestrian accident.
Round Rock police officer Charles Whites died from injuries sustained from the Feb. 25 incident.
According to Austin news media, Whites was directing traffic from the accident near Interstate 35 where one person died. He was struck by a car.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that our brother, Round Rock Police Officer Charles Whites has succumb to his injuries after being struck by a vehicle while diverting traffic around an auto-ped fatality on Feb. 25, 2018. Pray for the Whites and the RRPD family!

The driver in the incident was charged with intoxication assault.
