University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s tennis player Jace Mahan has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending April 22nd. Mahan is the first Cru tennis player to win ASC weekly honors this season.
Mahan, a sophomore from Lufkin High School, was 3-0 in doubles play and posted a 2-1 record in singles over three dual matches last week. He teamed with Cole Weiss to go unbeaten in doubles, playing at #1 and #2 doubles. Mahan was 2-1 at #3 singles, including a big victory in a 5-4 win over Concordia Texas that helped clinch an ASC Tournament berth for the UMHB men.
The Cru finished the regular season at 4-7 overall and went 3-3 in ASC West Division play. The UMHB men will now advance to the ASC Championship Tournament and will face East Texas Baptist in a 2 pm Quarterfinal Match on May 3rd in Richardson.
