McLennan Baseball holding on to No. 5 ranking
The McLennan Highlanders are holding steady at No. 5 in latest NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll, receiving 143 points this week.
Santa Fe (Florida) and Walters State (Tennessee) remained in the top two spots this week with 194 and 177 points, respectively. San Jacinto (Texas) jumped to third from eighth last week with 167 points, and State College of Florida remained in fourth with 161 points. Chipola (Florida), last week’s No. 3, fell to seventh.
Grayson and Cisco, both conference foes of the Highlanders, are in at 15th and 20th, respectively, with 56 and 20 points.
The Highlanders have an overall record of 32-9 and lead the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference standings with a 16-4 record. McLennan and Cisco will compete in a four-game conference series this week. The series will begin tomorrow with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Cisco, followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday at Bosque River Ballpark.
