The Texas Parks and Wildlife said a record-setting alligator gar was found on the Brazos River.

Biologists confirmed the alligator gar is 60-years-old, one of the oldest fish documented by the department. The 197 pound, 7.39 ft. fish beat the previous record by more than 4 pounds.

The alligator gar was caught by Isaac Avery, of Longview.

Alligator gar are native to Texas and the Southeastern U.S. Their diet consists of carp, gizzard shad, buffalo, tilapia and freshwater drum.
