The Marlin Police Department has named their new police chief.
Michael Pesses was named the chief Thursday evening at a special meeting of the Marlin City Council.
Pesses previously served as a lieutenant with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
The previous police chief, Damien Eaglin, resigned from his position, citing a hostile work environment.
Earlier this year, Marlin Police made headlines after a police officer was arrested and accused of stealing firearms and evidence from a case was missingand later found.
Recently a Marlin police captain, Hector Gonzalez, was arrested and charged with sexual assault. Gonzalez resigned from his position Wednesday.
