The Bell County Sheriff’s Department said a DPS trooper has been indicted on indecency with a child sexual assault involving a 15-year-old girl.
Harpin Myers turned himself into the Bell County Jail on Thursday. Myers, 60, is a DPS trooper.
DPS said termination proceedings have been initiated.
Myers was suspended in December 2015 when initial allegations were made about off-duty behavior. Myers started with the department in February 1981.
The indictment follows an investigation by the Bell County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers.
He was arraigned by the 27th Judicial District Court, and his bond was set at $10,000.
Myers has bonded out and was released from jail.
