The Bell County Sheriff's Office released the preliminary autopsy of the victims of a murder suicide in Belton Sunday night.
38-year-old Brian Lee Hand died of a gunshot wound to the head. His death is considered a homicide.
Ana Christina Hernandez, 47, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The two were found dead at their home on 1608 Charping Lane.
Deputies received a call requesting a welfare check around 5:11 p.m.
Witnesses told investigators that they had not heard from their friends and had gone over to check on them, but when the friends got to the house, no one answered the door.
That's when they looked into the windows and saw a person lying in a bed wounded.
Deputies went into the house and found both suffered gunshot wounds and recovered a gun inside.
Authorities have not clarified whether the two were related or not.
The investigation is ongoing.
