An employee of the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office has been placed on administrative after being arrested over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning, Baylor Police arrested Kristen Parker, 27, on a Driving While Intoxicated charge. She was released from the McLennan County Jail after posting $1,000 bond.

McLennan County Human Resources confirmed Parker has been an Assistant District Attorney at the McLennan County District Attorney's Office since October of 2015.

McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna released a statement regarding the arrest on Monday afternoon:

“I was made aware of the arrest of one of our misdemeanor prosecutors this past weekend.  To say the least, I was very disappointed to learn of this news.  Currently, I am out of town on a work related matter. That prosecutor has been placed on administrative leave pending my return to deal with this matter.  When I return to the office on Wednesday, I will address the personnel issues related to that prosecutor’s arrest and request a judge to appoint a Special Prosecutor to handle the criminal case resulting from the arrest,” Reyna said. “The citizens of McLennan County can rest assured that this matter will be dealt with accordingly.”
