Shoemaker vs. Harker Heights: Last season, Harker Heights and Shoemaker squared off in the final game of the season in a game with major playoff implications. This season, Ty Bell and the Grey Wolves are undefeated and in contention for a district title, while Harker Heights come into the game in need of a win to stay in playoff contention.
Spring Hill vs. Mexia: The Black Cats ran the table in district play to claim the No. 1 seed in District 7-4A II. Now, Mexia will open the playoffs at home against Spring Hill in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
Western Hills vs. La Vega: La Vega begins its quest for a third-straight state championship appearance against Western Hills. The Pirates came up short of a district title, so they enter the playoffs as the No. 2 team in 5-4A I. Pirate Head Coach Don Hyde was named Coach of the Year by the UIL and NFSHSA.
