Aggie Softball welcomes Incarnate Word for midweek double header

COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M Softball begins its final homestand of regular season as it welcomes Incarnate Word for a doubleheader Wednesday beginning at 3 p.m. at Davis Diamond.

The twin bill can be seen on SEC Network +, and authenticated subscribers can access the stream through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on their computers, mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs and other connected devices.

For the season, Texas A&M (25-21, 3-15 SEC) is led offensively by Payton McBride and Kelbi Fortenberry, who top the team with .353 and .340 batting averages, respectively. Fortenberry leads the Maroon and White in multiple categories, including runs (29), hits (51), total bases (62) and stolen bases (10).

In the circle, Kendall Potts paces the pitching staff with 10 wins. McBride has tallied eight victories as Kayla Poynter has added four and Hannah Mayo has recorded three.

Incarnate Word (4-36, 2-19 SLC) is led offensively by Hope Sobolewski, who tops the team with a .276 average and has added five home runs, five doubles and 20 RBI. Brett Coleman has tallied three wins in the circle holding a 6.21 ERA while Renee Hoffman has recorded one with a 5.98 ERA.

The Aggies hold a 2-0 lead against the Cardinals as the two teams met for the first time in program history in 2018. Texas A&M swept the doubleheader on March 7 with a 7-0 victory in game one and an 8-3 win in game two.
