Aggie softball to host Florida

COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M Softball welcomes sixth-ranked Florida to the friendly confines of Davis Diamond for a three-game series beginning Friday.

Friday’s game is slated to begin at 6 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday’s contests scheduled for 6 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively. While there is no live streaming available for Friday’s contest, Saturday and Sunday’s games can be seen on SEC Network + as Sunday’s broadcast features Matt Simon and Tori Vidales on the call.

Texas A&M enters the weekend holding a 25-15 (3-9 SEC) record. Offensively, the Aggies are led by Payton McBride and Kelbi Fortenberry, who top the team with .367 and .362 batting averages, respectively. Fortenberry leads the team in runs (28) and total bases (58), while Riley Sartain leads the Maroon and White in home runs (6), slugging percentage (.560) and is tied for first in doubles (7) with freshman Haley Lee.

In the circle, Kendall Potts, who allowed only one earned run in thirteen innings last weekend against the Georgia Bulldogs, paces the pitching staff with 10 wins. McBride has tallied eight as Kayla Poynter has added four and Hannah Mayo has recorded three.

Florida (33-9, 6-6 SEC) is lead offensively by Amanda Lorenz and Kendyl Lindaman, who are batting .410 and .378 and have tallied over half the Gators’ total home runs entering into the weekend. Kelly Barnhill holds a 22-6 ledger in the circle with a 1.35 ERA.
