Aggie softball falls to Missouri

COLUMBIA, MO — Texas A&M Softball fell in game two against Missouri, 8-0, in five innings Friday at the Missouri Softball Stadium.

The Tigers (26-18, 9-8 SEC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first taking advantage of a miscue by the Aggie defense and scored three unearned runs. Missouri tacked on to the lead with five runs in the second.

Texas A&M (25-20, 3-14 SEC) recorded four hits in the game and put pressure on Missouri starter Cassie Gasper in the fourth inning. Payton McBride singled with one out and Madi Jatzlau, who pinch ran for McBride, advanced to third on a Haley Lee single and an error. Gasper got out of the jam as Abby Smith flew out to deep center.

Hannah Mayo suffered her first loss of the season giving up six runs, three earned, on four hits and four walks in three innings of work. Payton McBride tossed an inning of relief and allowed one hit and two unearned runs.
