WACO, TX — The McLennan Highlanders will begin conference play tomorrow ranked 10th in the first NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll of the regular season.
Central Florida is ranked first, followed by Walters State (Tennessee) in second and Cochise (Arizona) in third. Southern Nevada and Crowder (Missouri) round out the top five.
Weatherford, the Highlanders’ conference-opening opponent, is ranked 11th. Cisco, the other North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference team in the poll, comes in at 15th. Grayson is receiving votes.
The Highlanders and Weatherford Coyotes face off in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Wednesday in Weatherford. All of the Highlanders’ conference games will be broadcast on 1590 AM and 99.3 FM in the Waco area and online atkbhthd2.streamon.fm [frontrush.com].
