WACO — Saturday is Senior Day for the Lady Bears. They host Oklahoma State and are looking to get that special win for seniors Kalani Brown and Chloe Jackson.
Head Coach Kim Mulkey said her team wouldn't be the number one ranked team in the country without Brown and Jackson.
Brown has left her mark on the program in more ways than one, while Jackson, a transfer, moved into the point and has led the team all year.
Those two play with a sense of urgency and as if every game is their last.
But, that's something Coach Mulkey demands of all her players because there are no do-overs or mulligans.
"It's that one split second that you don't play hard that you give up a basket, we lose by two. Or that one turnover where you just really didn't grind and protect the ball. Those are things that we talk about a lot. And I don't know that that has anything to do with being a senior, I think it's just the perception, or I should say reality of what we do in this program. We demand it out of them everyday," Mulkey said.
The Lady Bears tip off at the Ferrell Saturday at 1 p.m.
