For the seventh time this season, a Baylor acrobatics and tumbling athlete has earned a National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling (NCATA) weekly honor as senior top Ashley Echelberger was named the NCATA Athlete of the Week, per the organization’s Friday release.
Echelberger competed in 10 heats in the Bears’ 284.735 to 270.415 win over Converse College last week. The senior led Baylor to a perfect 10 in the open pyramid as well as three scores above 9.95 in the compulsory pyramid, compulsory toss and 450 salto toss. Additionally, Echelberger showcased her skills in the trio tumbling pass in which the Bears scored a 9.65.
This is Echelberger's second NCATA weekly honor of her career and this season. This is Baylor's seventh NCATA award of the year.
