Baylor women's basketball puts four on All-Academic teams

WACO, TX — The Big 12 office announced the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Women’s Basketball Team Tuesday afternoon featuring Baylor’s Lauren Cox, DiDi Richards, Moon Ursin and Trinity Oliver.

Cox, Richards and Ursin were first-team honorees while Oliver garnered second-team recognition. The trio of first-teamers marks the first time since the 2015-16 season that the Lady Bears have had three on the first team, and it is the first time since 2013-14 that Baylor has had four combined honorees.

Cox is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 recipient after earning the honor last season in her first year of eligibility as a sophomore.

Forty-five Big 12 student athletes made the list and criteria for the first team necessitates a player have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and must have participated in 20 percent of the team’s schedule contests. Second-team recognition requires a GPA of 3.0-3.19 and all honorees must have completed two prior semesters at their respective institution. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first season of academic residence.
