WACO, Texas — The Baylor Bears jumped two spots to No. 2 in the latest AP Top 25. Baylor is now the highest ranked team in the Big 12 after beating former No. 3 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.
The Bears moved up two spots from last week's poll after going 2-0 this week, including two road wins over Top 25 teams. The Bears opened the week with a win over reigning National Runners-Up Texas Tech in Lubbock.
Baylor comes in behind No. 1 Gonzaga. The Bears received more first-place votes than the Bulldogs, 31-30, but Gonzaga received seven more total points than the Bears.
The No. 2 ranking is the Bears' best ranking since Jan. 30, 2017, when they were also ranked No. 2.
This week, Baylor will continue its quest for a Big 12 title. They host Iowa State Wednesday night at 7 p.m. before traveling to Stillwater, Oklahoma to play Oklahoma State.
