WACO, TX — Baylor Men's Basketball Head Coach Scott Drew is among several head coaches who have made Election Day a mandatory off day for players.
In a joint statement from 10 Big 12 Men's Basketball coaches, the group said it is committed to using their platforms to make a lasting difference and help bring an end to racism.
The coaches have decided to make Election Day a mandatory off day for players and will "take action to encourage the young men we mentor to register and exercise their right to vote."
Among the group is Head Coach Chris Beard of Texas Tech, Head Coach Jamie Dixon of TCU and Head Coach Shaka Smart of the University of Texas.
