WACO, TX — Due to weather, the rubber game between the Bears and Texas was cancelled after a nearly 4.5-hour rain delay.
Because the game did not reach five innings played before the delay, it will go down as a no contest.
The first delay of the game came at the end of the first inning, with the Bears down 4-0. After a 25-minute delay the Bears and Longhorns played the top of the second and were one batter into the bottom of the second when play was halted for the second time, Bears down 6-0. After a delay of nearly 4.5 hours, the game was called by the umpires.
