CENTRAL TEXAS — The Salvation Army's Annual Red Kettle Fundraiser fell short in some Central Texas counties.
The fundraiser began across the nation in early November and ended Christmas Eve, leaving several countries short of necessary funding.
Salvation Army officials explained both Bell and Brazos County did not make their 2019 community donations goal.
Bell County Salvation Army official explained they have a gap of $60,000 compared to this time last year.
Similarly, Brazos County explained their goal was missed by $20,000.
Though McLennan County Salvation Army explained their goal of $172,000 was surpassed by nearly $3,000, allowing for their yearly programs to flourish.
Conversely by not meeting the goal set for 2019 Bell County's lack of donations could impact the programs the organization offers, such as food pantry supplies and cots available for the needy.
