While a number of restaurants, theaters and more are preparing to re-open on Friday with 25% capacity, there are a few business owners who have decided to wait.
Curbside service is booming at Old Jody's in Temple.
"Come every other day to eat here," said customer Dianne Romero.
However, retail stores, movie theaters and restaurants across the Lone Star State are allowed to open their doors again beginning Friday.
"Just talking to the employees and getting their feelings about it and everything," said Joey Franks, the owner.
The team at Old Jody's decided curbside service is working so well, they are going to stick to it. So it'll be awhile before you can actually go inside and grab a seat at a table.
"We've got our system down now, and we'll just wait for to see what happens," said Franks.
The Beltonian Theatre in Belton is taking a similar approach. Out of an abundance of caution, Zechariah Baker says he is also waiting before fully opening up.
"This is so new to everybody, that I wanted to play it safe. I want to slowly open things back up again," said Baker.
However, as long as you schedule a private screening, you can still pop in for a movie.
"For families, groups of five or fewer, 10 or fewer, 15 or fewer at incremental costs," explained Baker.
Baker says private screenings begin Friday and sanitation is a top priority.
"Cleaned in between each screening," said Baker. "I also rotate where people sit in the theater."
The Beltonian Theatre and Old Jody's teams say they plan on waiting at least until the end of May to make a final decision on when to completely reopen.
When it comes to stopping by your favorite restaurant or theater beginning Friday, it is best to check ahead to see if they have any special regulations they will be following.
