Creative Waco, the arts non-profit organization, just launched a new fund to help artists, musicians, creatives and the businesses that support them.
It's called the "Make It Through Coronavirus" Fund and in just one day of fund-raising, $6,000 of the $25,000 goal has been donated.
Creative Waco expects it to be a long time before any large event is allowed to take place, and arts organizations like the symphony or live concerts are just not possible right now.
But, Director Fiona Bond says creativity is their superpower so the community is adapting.
"It is taking a creative approach to helping them pivot, make changes and do whatever they need to do to survive and thrive," said Bond.
